Within Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform, the Azure Machine Learning (ML) team enables data scientists and developers to quickly and easily build, train, deploy, manage, and consume machine learning models.
The Forge team manages Microsoft's accelerator fleet and provides platform to run all AI workloads. To achieve this, we collaborate closely with hardware & software partners, ML researchers and the open-source community. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team! You will have the opportunity to work on the fundamental abstractions, programming models, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that enable large scale training and inferring of the world’s most advanced AI models.

Responsibilities
Design and develop systems in C#, Java, and other languages.
Apply engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable architecture and designs.
Collaborate broadly across multiple disciplines from hardware to ML developers.
Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, schedule deliverables.
Help establish and drive the adoption of outstanding coding standards and patterns and help enhance our inclusive engineering culture.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Experience with Linux and Kubernetes

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with Azure services (Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Virtual Machine ScaleSets)
2+ years of experience with Linux and Kubernetes
Go and Python coding skills
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
