  Job Description

  Lead a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

  Responsibilities

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at a high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class, foundational cloud infrastructure services.

  The Networking Team owns highly reliable, versatile, and performant network services that lay the foundation for the cloud to run and perform.

  As part of Networking, the Network Monitoring team builds distributed services that monitor network infrastructure and derive metrics in the order of millions.

  We’re looking for a Sr. Manager of Software Development with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in globally distributed systems, reliability engineering, and improving operational posture.   As a Sr. Manager of Product Development, you will own critical network monitoring software and lead a team of software engineers responsible for the development of major networking technologies in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment that requires agility, and the drive to deliver. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

  Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing engineers and managers

  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

  • Experience driving productivity, excellence, and bootstrapping new teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field

  • 5+ years’ experience with complex technology projects involving data analysis, software development design, and engineering and program management

  • Prior experience with agile methodologies

  • Experience with project delivery for large, cross-functional projects

  • Experience in Networking and/or Cloud Infrastructure development preferred

  Hiring Range: from $112,300 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

  Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

  Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  11 paid holidays

  Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
