Emerging Country Growth Org acquires inventory in bulk from manufacturers, vendors and sellers and make them available in international Amazon marketplaces. This involves continuously enhancing the customer experience in the respective marketplace by expanding selection, reducing delivery times and costs. If so, Emerging Country Growth is seeking a Software Development Engineer who wants to stretch both their technical abilities and their business know-how to implement creative global solutions and act as a leader of leaders.

  Key job responsibilities

  As a key member of the engineering team, you will have influence on our product strategy by helping define the product features, refine system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product.

  You will be successfully setting the foundation for the next phase of the product and beyond. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating a reliable, scalable, and high-performance service requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.

  You should enjoy working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals.

  A day in the life

  The bulk of an average day is centered around designing and building features to enhance existing applications.

  Otherwise other elements of a day that happen are:

  · Working on ad-hoc requests and bug fixes

  · Participating in doc reviews with product managers and stakeholders

  · Supporting and delegating tickets while on-call

  · Team meetings and presentations/learning sessions

We pride ourselves on having an open and ongoing dialogue with our stakeholders including business and Product teams to build trust and innovate on behalf of our eventual customers. Someone who joins this team will be engaged with engineers and stakeholders dedicated to supporting our Emerging Country Growth businesses; focusing on delivery optimization and emerging business needs with a balance of scrappy vs long term supported solutions.

  Basic Qualifications

  3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  Preferred Qualifications

  3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
