Join our innovation team as a Software Developer/Solution Engineer and be at the forefront of revolutionizing crane operations at harbor container terminals.
Our developed software provides a comprehensive overview and control of complex systems, managing warnings, cameras, controls, and real-time status updates on PLCs. In this role, you will contribute to advanced software solutions, focusing on the automation, remote control, and diagnostics of harbor cranes and peripheral equipment.
You will start in a small dedicated team of engineers and collaborate closely with colleagues of the Cranes department in the Netherlands and Germany, maintaining close contact with several R&D departments and project engineering teams. You will be able to directly address the current en future challenges presented by large and high-tech cranes in an interconnected environment. Depending on your preferences, you can be involved with implementing your work in projects, as well as travel internationally on occasion.
Responsibilities include:
Designing, creating, and maintaining SCADA software within WinCC OA.
Actively participating in the development of automation solutions for harbor cranes.
Supporting commissioning and acceptance tests.
Tracking, documenting, and regularly reporting development progress.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
Extensive experience with an object-oriented programming language preferably statically typed (for example: C++, C#, Java, .NET, JavaScript, ROS/ROS2, Rust).
Experience with working with software which is connected to hardware and the quirks that this involves.
Experience with setting up software in a distributed environment and networks.
Knowledge of and experience with WinCC OA or other SCADA packages is a big plus.
Business fluent in English, ideally also Dutch.
Preference for knowledge of container cranes and/or container terminals, SIMATIC S7 programming languages or experience in complex (automation) projects.
