Job Description

The OCI Hardware Development (OHD) Security Team is composed of experienced security professionals specializing in securing all aspects of CPU, GPU hardware platforms and their firmware within OCI Cloud and Exadata products. Our mission is to ensure product security by providing guidance on hardware and firmware design, features, and services. We set security standards for OHD products and work cross-functionally with internal teams, partners, and suppliers, as well as manufacturing teams, to perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies that enhance our product's security posture.

We are seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer with expertise in hardware, firmware, and cloud security to join our team. This role involves architecture, design, prototyping, development, and security assessments of OHD’s products and services.

Responsibilities

As a Security-Minded Firmware/Software Principal, you will:

Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure security requirements are met.

Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews for hardware and firmware components.

Work closely with Security Leads, Security Points of Contact, Directors, and Managers to drive security best practices across OCI Hardware Development.

Ensure both Oracle-engineered and third-party components meet industry-leading security standards.

Identify and drive improvements to the security testing, security reviews, and testing including penetration, fuzz testing.

Qualifications:

BS, MS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering with a focus on HW/SW Security, or a related field

Strong 7+ years of experience in hardware, firmware, and cloud security.

Expertise in secure development practices, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation.

Ability to analyze and improve firmware/software security architectures.

Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive security initiatives.

Knowledge of industry security standards and best practices.

Expertise in Encryption, Key Management, Cybersecurity fundamentals (e.g., access controls, common software vulnerabilities, and security standard processes), Deployment Methodologies, and Security Standards Compliance Certification (STIG, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS), etc.

Experience with Intel/AMD/ARM server processors, and/or Nvidia/AMD GPUs and platforms is a plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
