Leidos is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Software Development position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise and support in the design, development, implementation and testing of customer tools and applications. This position is located near Lackland Air Force Base; all work is onsite.
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and Python.
Developing and directing software system validation and testing methods
Develop and integrate custom developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies
Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases
Analyze (though proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs
Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices
Use industry leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting
Document and Perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leverage GitFlow constructs
Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.
Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities
Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures
Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
Basic Qualifications
BS or MS degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty (preferred)
At least 12-15 years relevant experience with a BS degree or 10-13 with MS degree performing engineering activities in the Government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit or non-profit Government support, or development contractor arena
Experience in programming languages (at least 2): C, C++, Java, JavaScript, & Python
Ability to supervise up to 9 people.
Experience in the following applications frameworks (at least 2):
React, Angular, Python, JavaScript, CSS, & HTML, & Material UI
Familiarity & knowledge:
Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud & Nifi
Experience or Knowledge in the following Areas:
Agile software development, agile methodologies, agile project management, software project management, defensive cyber military operations, software development life cycle management, program/project management, systems engineering, strategic planning, cross-functional team
Must possess an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered.
IAT level II (i.e Security +) or higher
Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Active TS/SCI preferred
Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with Air Force
Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
