Amazon Screening Services conducted more than 4MM screenings leveraging 80+ vendors globally. And this number is growing with the growth of Amazon. We are building the first system to intelligently route the projected 10MM+ screens across all existing and future vendors to allow us to balance the speed at which Amazon hires, cost of doing it, and acceptable risk across the entire workforce.As a Software Engineer in Screening organization you will influence this green field project by designing highly scalable solutions and applying technology to optimize business problems. The expected outcome of this team work should enable 4x faster screening, and reduce overall cost of screening by 40%.The ideal candidate is passionate about software development and has a track record of designing and implementing products and features using cloud solutions. They have solved complex problems and seen their solutions deployed at scale in live environments. They are a force multiplier within the team by influencing peers and mentoring more junior SDEs.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
