Job Purpose: The software asset management analyst is responsible for managing the software licenses and compliance of the organisation.
Scope: The analyst will monitor, track, and report on the usage and inventory of software assets, as well as identify and mitigate any risks or issues related to software licensing. The analyst will also collaborate with various stakeholders, such as IT, procurement, finance, and legal, to optimise the software asset lifecycle and ensure alignment with the business objectives and policies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform software asset management activities, such as discovery, inventory, reconciliation, verification, and reporting
Analyse software license agreements and entitlements, and ensure compliance with vendor terms and conditions
Identify and resolve any discrepancies or gaps between software usage and licenses
Provide recommendations and guidance on software license optimization, cost savings, and risk mitigation
Maintain and update the software asset management database and tools
Support software audits and reviews, and provide accurate and timely data and documentation
Develop and maintain software asset management policies, procedures, and best practices
Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in software asset management and licensing
Provide training and awareness on software asset management to relevant stakeholders.
Must Have:
Minimum 2 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or procurement experience in licensing and purchasing software or related field
Knowledge and understanding of software licensing models, concepts, and practices
Experience with software asset management tools, such as, Snow, or ServiceNow or other SAM Tool
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, communication skills
Ability to build strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work within a team to high standards and tight timescales
Ability to analyze situations, provide recommendations and be flexible in approach in order to resolve problems

Nice to Have:
Certification in software asset management, such as CSAM, IAITAM, or ITIL, is a plus
