Duties: Guide business units to build reliable, performant, scalable, and maintainable systems that include machine-learning components. Evaluate solution alternatives that involve different machine learning architectures that allow for operation in the cloud or on the edge. Design and implement intelligent systems for business units. Participate in software architecture reviews and work with business units to improve their software architecture. Scout state-of-the-art machine learning technologies and software engineering methods, tools and trends. Identify high impact research topics in intelligent systems. Apply ML techniques to software engineering challenges. Perform research, development and consulting projects collaborating with colleagues, customers and universities. Create publications and presentations for journals and conferences.
Requirements : The employer will accept a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or in a related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. The position requires experience in the following: Systematic software engineering; Working for business domain, such as factory automation, motion control, process industry, infrastructure, or rail; Using and deploying machine learning; Evaluating and improving the performance, scalability, reliability, and robustness of intelligent systems; Coding for both compiled, such as C++, C#, or Java, as well as scripting languages, such as Python or JavaScript; Performing requirements engineering. 20% domestic and international travel is required. 40% telecommuting is permitted within commutable distance.
