In this role you will, lead, develop and grow a software, firmware and systems engineering team, be involved in the departments planning and functional execution, and contribute to the delivery of the business strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities
Guide teams through the full software life cycle development including requirements, design, implementation, verification & validation, and certification.Provide effective functional leadership ensuring adherence to company and department processes and procedures.Empower and lead team to deliver to our customers on time and within budget whilst assuring the highest technical quality work.Create and ensure applicable team metrics are in place to measure and assess team's performance and capabilities.Effectively manage team's resource supply and demand, including recruitment of permanent and contract staff, placement of work at GE global sites and outsource of work packages to suppliers.Be an active member of the LIPB Engineering leadership team, delivering team functional growth and improvement plans. Ensure company initiatives and training requirements are implemented.Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations, functions and within team. Communicate with engineering leadership on technical, organizational, resource and staff matter.Establish priorities for the team that align with established deliverables. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and ongoing mentoring and coaching sessions.Conduct regular performance reviews and participate in salary planning.Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.Use internal and external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in computer software related technology and software /firmware development or systems engineering related experience.

The base pay range for this position is $131,600 to $219,400. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 1st.
