Social Worker at Providence Portland Medical Center- Multiple Shifts and Schedules Available
Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Unit- MSW/CSWE:
This vital position is part of an interdisciplinary team that provides excellent trauma informed care to patients on the adult inpatient psychiatry unit. The social worker serves as the hub of the inpatient treatment process for patients experiencing mental health crisis by coordinating care on the unit and with family and community providers. As the hub of a team that creates a safe place for some of our most vulnerable community members, this role completes psychosocial assessments, participates in patient care planning on the unit, and builds safe discharge plans with patients to continue their healing journey beyond their hospital stay.
Behavioral Health Intervention Team- MSW/CSWE
This exciting position works with interdisciplinary teams on the medical units as a behavioral health expert to improve care for patients with psychiatric and/or substance use comorbidities. Two days are never the same. Embedded in medical units, this specialty social worker proactively identifies patients who benefit from psychiatric or substance use support while hospitalized. Patient care includes identifying immediate needs and barriers to care, assessing, intervening, psychiatric and substance issue care and discharge planning. Unit staff support includes providing education and role modeling best care practices for nursing and medical staff. A capped caseload allows for more intensive work with patients and staff.
The Behavioral Health Associate/Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Unit, CSWA practices in a treatment setting under clinical supervision and is dedicated to evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and substance use disorders. The BH/Adult Psychiatry Unit Associate CSWA will collaborate with patient/support system to evaluate and diagnose patients.

Required qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE Accredited School of Social Work, OR from a school in candidacy status by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
Upon hire: In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check may be required for this position based upon the location of the position. Fingerprinting may be required also.
Preferred qualifications:
1 year of Completed Master's level practicum in a behavioral health setting in an accredited college or university internship.
Additional experience in substance use treatment setting.
