About Social Communications Manager

  Minimum qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or social media.

  Preferred qualifications: Experience creating and executing a social media editorial calendar for executive stakeholders.

  Experience with graphic design and video editing.

  Experience with consumer social media platforms.

  Understanding of social media analytics. Ability to communicate in English fluently in order to plan, design and produce a pipeline of social communications materials.

  Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and constantly evolving context.

  About the job

  As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns. We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.

  As a Social Communications Manager, you will help execute the social strategy for Google's Leadership in APAC. You will work closely with stakeholders, local country, marketing and communications teams, to maintain a pipeline of communications materials and collaborate on original thought leadership content. This includes sourcing newsworthy updates, drafting content and monitoring profiles, developing creative ideas to drive conversation, and measuring and analyzing results to adjust the approach along the way. You will be able to understand complex issues, break them down, and work with executives to communicate these ideas in written and spoken forms.

  We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.

  Responsibilities

  Manage planning and execution of Google's social media strategy, working closely with colleagues to identify the right messaging and formats to effectively tell stories through social channels. Manage and organize the social editorial calendar while overseeing all content, including copy, creative assets, publishing, and tracking. Act as the overall program manager for the executive social thought leadership program, overseeing operations for the content pipeline, developing and running the internal education program. Propose new creative ideas that improve and refine Google's social media strategy. Track performance, analyze results, collect and share learnings to improve future efforts.
