About the Role Team

Join the QuickBooks Canada Communications team for an exciting opportunity as QuickBooks Communications Co-op. The Canadian communications team is looking for a communications and/or marketing intern with a passion for storytelling across social media and PR.

We are a small, but mighty team of QuickBooks storytellers working across multiple teams (marketing, product, care and sales) to build our brand awareness, affinity and consideration of the suite of QuickBooks products in Canada.

In this role, you will focus mostly on supporting external communications strategies for QuickBooks in Canada across PR and social media with customer storytelling at the heart.

The ideal candidate has a combination of digital savvy skills who can thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This candidate is positive with a collaborative approach, a strategic, creative, self-directed thinker who is eager to learn the craft of communications in a tech organization and is ready to make a difference working in a small but mighty team.

Requirements for the role

To be eligible for the role you must align with the following:

Currently enrolled in post secondary education

A graduation date of no earlier than 4 months after the internship/co-op concludes

Not require sponsorship to work within the role now or in the future

Come in 2x per week to our Toronto office (all of our co-op roles are hybrid)

What you'll bring

Qualifications you’ll bring:

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or postgraduate program in a related field and be able to work full-time for 8 months, starting in September 2024.

Ability to partner with the other members of the communications team (brand social, PR and influencers) along with the broader marketing team to win hearts with storytelling.

Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools (Figma, Adobe Creative, Cloud, Canva, InShot, Snapseed)

Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Skilled verbal visual storyteller across media.

Great people skills: diplomacy, integrity and presence that enables you to build strong relationships and work effectively across teams in the US, Canada and the UK.

Self-starter that can work independently. You are organized yet flexible, resilient, comfortable with ambiguity and adapt easily to change.

How you will lead

Responsibilities:

Play a supportive role in the PR and social media function in Canada to help the team drive brand awareness, affinity and consideration through communications campaigns targeted to reach Canadian small businesses, bookkeepers and accountants.

Strong written skills to help the team create, edit copy for different communications channels (earned and social media).

Support our QuickBooks and Accountants social media strategy with community engagement, comment moderation, listening, reporting, ad copy, creative assets and trend hopping.

Support internal communications for our external campaigns in market.
