SiteOps Data Center Capacity Engineer Responsibilities:
Create and improve global standards for processes, workflow and automation roadmaps for software automation that facilitate deployment, maintaining and decommissioning of server hardware at scale.
Plan and facilitate the placement of computer equipment at scale, escalate issues, and work with cross-functional teams.
Support rack lifecycle processes with a focus on helping build out and support cloud scale compute and storage environments.
Work with hardware and software engineering teams and vendors to help resolve complex technical issues that affect the computing infrastructure.
Plan, lead and collaborate with cross-functional data center teams to deliver complex data center infrastructure capacity projects, taking into account the interdependencies of production resiliency, power, cooling, network, server and application layers.
Data trending, analysis and interpretation of systemic issues that impact fleet uptime and utilization.
Perform root cause analysis of complex technical and engineering issues and drive resolution.
Build cross-functional relationships and have the ability to influence policies and procedures to improve regional/global data center operations.
$81,931.20/year to $114,000.00/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:
Networking, Hardware, or OS repair
Linux, UNIX or other server hardware support
Technologies HTTP, DNS, RAID, and DHCP
Capacity planning
Demand and supply management
Project planning
Utilizing data analysis to identify opportunities for Process Improvement
Diagnosing and resolving software provisioning issues.
