  Based at the Marietta Manufacturing site, the role of the Site Communications Manager is part of the site leadership team, reporting directly into the Site Director and working in close partnership with GSK's Global Supply Chain Communications and Government Affairs Team.

  The role coaches the site leadership team on their communications skills, is accountable for the site's communication and engagement plan and channels and ensures that all local communication activities are aligned to GSK's global purpose, strategy and culture. In addition, the role helps build reputation for the site externally by working on external communication opportunities together with the US Media and Government affairs team.

  This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Develops the communications and engagement strategy for the site, including work to drive employee development, recognition, and culture activation and owns the strategy execution, aligned to the global strategy Creates engagement around global priorities by putting them into the local context] Advises and coaches leaders of the site LT on their communication skills including delivering the appropriate communication trainings on both channels (eg. use of social media) and content (eg. storytelling, strategic messaging, etc.) Understands and incorporates local/area strategy, culture, and employee morale into communications to keep efforts fresh, on-target and credible Develops the right agenda, messages and content (stories) for key events and channels Defines the site's internal channel strategy and manages these channels in the day-2-day Defines the right metrics to measure effective site communications, in collaboration with the global team Develops the site narrative, reflecting the identity of the site as part of a global manufacturing network (factsheet, video, presentation, etc) Supports local, regional or even national external media activities as needed by providing site input in close collaboration with the US Media and Government Affairs Team Develops content through various formats - photography, video, graphics, audio, written - that tells a compelling, personal story of the Marietta site to both internal and external audiences Accountable for the site's issue and crisis management communication and provides site input into pro-active or reactive external statements as needed Overlooks the relationship with external communications agencies Safeguards GSK's brand and visual identity in all engagement campaigns that run on site Collaborates on or sometimes co-creates global GSK Global Supply Chain communication campaigns to ensure they resonate locally Supports employee fundraising plans including annual goals and communications touch points for community outreach programs Works with internal partners (Finance, HR, IT) to ensure efficiency and policy compliance Why You?

  Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and delivering communication plans and tools to support achievement of business objectives Minimum 5 years of e xperience working with current digital communications technologies and strategies Minimum 5 years of e xperience in strategic planning, budgeting and project management Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree or MBA Prior experience in and solid knowledge of the pharma/vaccines industry and its key players is a plus Ability to simplify and communicate complex issues across a wide range of media and to a range of audiences Ability to deal with sensitive issues with the utmost confidentiality High personal accountability, credibility and integrity Strong interpersonal and networking skills, capable of developing productive relationships with colleagues across teams and departments in the organisation Resilient, proactive, flexible and self-motivated person with sound judgment and strong decision- making skills Hands-on, delivering operationally, getting things done Able to operate in a complex matrix organization and bridge between global and local as well as functional topics in a highly dynamic environment Why GSK?
