Position: Crane Structures - Shop Supervisor
Location: Winchester, Kentucky
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 (Exempt)

JOB SUMMARY:
As the Shop Supervisor, you will oversee and manage a team of employees. You will play a crucial role in overseeing various groups within fabrication and supply guidance to successfully meet project deadlines. Your primary goal will be to direct the operations of manufacturing, effectively lead and train employees, evaluate finished products, and perform quality checks.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant degree preferred. (Prior management training, certifications a plus).Minimum of 5+ years as a supervisor in a heavy fabrication and welding environment.Must have prior Supervisor experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.Must be proficient in AWS welding processes such as GMAW, FCAW, SAW and SMAW.Required to complete Supervisor Training as directed by HR and/or Upper Management.Experience supervising 8 to 15 employees and creating work schedules.Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills.The desired candidate shows initiative, working well with others, safety oriented, goal driven, and a positive team lead.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Experienced with MS Office, particularly skilled in using MS Excel at an advanced level.Clean safety record. OSHA training is a plus.Be able to travel to other DeShazo locations for training or meetings.
JOB DUTIES:
Oversee a team of skilled fabricators, welders, and other shop personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.Direct the operation of overhead cranes to move structural steel and other materials into fabrication process.Perform required workplace and equipment pre-shift inspections, along with preventative maintenance as needed on assigned equipment.Capable and experienced with rigging and lifting techniques with overhead cranes.Visually inspect employee welds.Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.Evaluate all engineering drawings and ensure implementation according to specifications for assembly of large structural and mechanical fabrications.Use laser equipment, plumb bobs, levels, and other equipment to check and verify alignment of fabricated steel.Read various measuring instruments, structural prints, and interpret welding symbols / processes.Monitor the process of a job and keep it within budget.Administer all duties in a safe and efficient manner, informing management of any safety hazards.Participate in the Continuous Improvement of the operation.Log into Payroll System and accurately enter employee's time.Monitor employee's attendance and fill out proper disciplinary action forms when attendance issues violate company policies.Load out trucks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to stand/walk 95% of the workday on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day.Must occasionally lift and/or carry up to eighty pounds.Twist, reach and bend often.Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine).Ability to use close, vision, distance vision, and adjust focus.Possess the ability to ascend and descend a ladder.Ability to work in an environment with low to moderate noise levels.Exposure to hot and cold conditions, noise, chemicals, heavy equipment, and machinery.
