Our facility in Sunnyvale, CA has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Shipping Traffic Administrator to join our mission.
As our Shipping Traffic Administrator will support the overall direction, prioritization and executions of mission critical shipments across the globe. Tasks include coordinating transportation and the generation of required transportation documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, you will provide support to our Bay Area Lockheed Martin transportation group with documentation required for multiple modes and type of shipments. This role will enable you to frequently use and apply your knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards as well as develop solutions to a variety of problems of heightened scope and complexity.
Summary of key duties for this position:
• Creating shipment documentation for high value dedicated truckload transports and shipments of end item deliverable hardware using company carriers
• You will plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound shipments of freight, using knowledge of US and International regulations, tariffs, and company policy via multiple shipping modes (air freight, LTL, truckload, vessel, etc.)
• One key function of this position is generating shipment documentation for hazardous materials/dangerous goods via international air (ICAO/IATA) and US Domestic (CFR49) modes of transport
• You will coordinate with carriers, audit freight bills, prepare and negotiate claims, and select or recommend carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and low risk movement of hardware and material
• You will conduct research on transportation methods, rates, and routes and create Basis of Estimates to our customers and ensure alignment of transportation efforts to meet the applicable BOEs
• You will create commercial and government bills of lading and air bills using government online web tools to support the shipment/movement of materials against internal shipping documents and DD1149s

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have industry experience with shipping, transportation and traffic related practices and standards
• Experience with 49CFR and ICAO/IATA hazardous material regulations for air and ground transport
• Experience with common commercial shipment and transportation documentation
(Bill of Ladings, Hazardous Declarations, State Permits, SDSs/MSDS, etc)
• International import/export shipping experience
• Willing/able to work outside normal business hours, including weekends at a low frequency
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Project
Desired Skills:
• Possess current 49 CFR and ICAO/IATA hazardous material training certifications
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel and management
• Persuasive communications skills and the ability to work without supervision
• Possess, or be able to obtain, a DOD security clearance from the United States Government
• Inventory management skills and knowledge of a purchasing and reconciliation process
• Experience with military specification packaging supplies and modes of transportation
• Restricted oversize transportation permitting
• Familiar with common and specialized tractor trailers & equipment (Flatbeds, Drop trailers [single/double], RGNs, Conestoga, Stretch and customized equipment)
• Cargo securement of high value hardware with multiple types of securement (Straps, Chains & Binders, Blocking & Bracing)
• Familiarization with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs)

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $52,100 - $99,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $59,900 - $112,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
