About Service Asset & Configuration Management Analyst, Specialist

  The Software Asset Management analyst is responsible for daily management and control of the enterprise software portfolio to optimize the value, cost, and risk of software. Will track, help maintain, and coordinate license compliance disposition. The Crew member will also contribute with HAM / CMDB related activities when applicable.

  In this role you will: Collect and maintain accurate Software Licensing information in SAM tool to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost. Monitor and reconcile a wide variety of software licenses and usage, including but not limited to, server, storage, middleware, database, and desktop software to mitigate compliance risks and reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Support SAM tools, processes and procedures to automate the collection, storage and reporting of key software data so that the products can be managed across the enterprise in an effective manner. Manage proof of entitlement documentation and asset authorizations Provide support during software publisher audits. Assists with dispute resolution. Stay abreast of new and updated software license models and options for key vendor products e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and IBM (International Business Machines). Actively assess risk and cost reduction opportunities and makes recommendations to Software Owners and Software Asset Management leadership to optimize the software asset portfolio.

  Contribute to the continued development of standardized SAM processes and monitor processes to ensure compliance Contribute to the continued development and implementation of enterprise-wide software asset management policies and procedures which minimizes compliance risk, enhances the program, and creates process efficiencies Assist with the development of reporting to address management requirements/inquiries Respond to requests from Software Owners, end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT (Information Technology) Software Asset Management Build diverse and inclusive relationships for the betterment of the team, department, and the firm . Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. What it takes:

  Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems/Technology, Business, or 5 years equivalent work experience

  5+ years' experience in Software Asset Management and licensing

  Proficient knowledge of ServiceNow, specific knowledge of SAM Pro or a comparative platform

  Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving skills, including the ability to accumulate, organize, and assimilate substantial amounts of information

  Advanced knowledge of Software Asset Management principals / practices / lifecycle management

  Knowledge of product use rights for publishers such as Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, IBM, VMware etc.

  Understanding of ServiceNow Asset Management tools and technologies

  Familiarity with hardware technology and configurations including virtualization

  Proven record of accomplishment in solving problems, engaging, and encouraging others in a collaborative work style to resolve problems.

  Excels at organizing and managing multiple priorities and/or projects

  Understanding of Software contractual agreements and compliancy

  Experience with and understands Configuration Management (CMBD)

  Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment

  Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  Proficient presentation skills; can present and tell a story to various levels within the organization able to breakdown complex ideas/scenarios into smaller, simpler components

   Preferred Certifications:

  IAITAM or CSAM certification
