Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal EHS Engineer in support of the Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) Division. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. This position is in Roy, Utah . This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Serve as subject matter expert on EHS topics.
Understand and maintain a thorough knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, and EPA regulations.
Review safety data sheets (SDS) to develop worker protection plans.
Conduct training for employees, such as new hire training.
Support safety efforts through completion of job safety analyses (JSA), building inspection, and other safety duties as required.
Support environmental programs and initiatives through efforts such as water sampling.
Interact with regulators (EPA, MDE, etc.) as needed.
This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer EHS: Minimum of 5 years of full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety experience, with a bachelor's degree in the Safety Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
Sr Principal Engineer EHS: Minimum of 9 years of full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety experience, with a bachelor's degree in the Safety Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management; 7 years with Masters; 4 yrs with PhD.
Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Experience in conducting personal protective equipment assessments, and job hazard analysis.
Experience in conducting in person training and developing online training for various EHS related topics.
Must have strong multitasking and problem solving abilities.
Well-organized, efficient time management skills, works effectively with little to no supervision.
Maintains attention to detail and deals effectively with ambiguity.
Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Must be able to prepare and deliver briefings of technical information, with clarity, to all levels of management and customer personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active current Secret clearance,
Master of Science (MS) degree in industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, environmental science, or a related field, or currently enrolled in an M.S. degree program.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
Experience with supporting EHS programs for manufacturing and construction operations.
Current Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for General Industry and Construction (OSHA 500 and 501).
Background knowledge in energetic operations.
Computer based skills specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.

Salary Range: $84,200 - $126,400
Salary Range 2: $104,400 - $156,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
