About Senior UI Designer

  We’re looking for a Senior UI Designer to join us as we accelerate and evolve the foundations of our product’s experience. In this role, you’ll  design and deliver compelling and memorable user experiences that truly empower our customers on social. This connects directly to the evolution of our Design System and sits at the heart of fusing human behavior with our product’s core values and outcomes. As part of the product design team, you’ll be working on some of our most challenging and high-impact UI problems. While working remotely or in a hybrid work arrangement, a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy), you will report to the Director, Product Design & User Experience.

  WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  Design and deliver a range of digital assets including early concepts, high-fidelity designs, prototypes and production assets with defined objectives and strategies for the Hootsuite product ecosystem; ensure designs are on brand and aligned with Hootsuite’s values and Guiding Principles. Inform, contribute to, and extend our product’s Design System. Be responsible for all design components of a project from initial ideation and refinement through to final objectives and deliverables. Present to, and defend your design decisions utilizing data, alignment to strategic roadmap and department OKRs to a variety of internal and external audiences and stakeholders. Develop, maintain, and extend a deep understanding of the Hootsuite product experience, business objectives, customers, and competition by conducting or participating in relevant user research, competitive analysis, and other design thinking activities.  Build a close, collaborative, and influential relationship with your agile squad and colleagues in roles across Design, Product, Engineering and Marketing to define and deliver a product experience that our users love and want to come back to. Be a vocal and passionate force for change as we continuously experiment and  improve our product experience.  Other related duties as assigned. WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  Post secondary degree or diploma in Digital Media or Design Significant relevant experience as a UI Designer in SaaS product delivery A strong portfolio comprised of projects which demonstrate strategic, creative, and user centered design solutions to complex problems Ability to participate in and interpret insights from a wide range of appropriate UI design activities for complex problems such as: user research, workshops, strategy and vision development, concept design, detailed design, and prototyping.  Expert-level knowledge of Figma Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, JS a plus. Experience advocating for scalable, research-backed design frameworks, architecture, and solutions. Ability to influence user-centered design principles, concepts, and practices at the team level with input to other portfolios and advocate for change when strategy or solution isn't of high value. Ability to provide technical oversight and mentorship to other Designers to improve outcomes for the team. Identify opportunities for process and operational improvements and advocating for necessary changes Decision Making: consistently chooses the best course of action (from a number of alternatives) to address business problems and/or opportunities  Priority Setting: focuses time/energy on the most important issues/opportunities.   Canada Pay Range For This Role

  $98,400—$137,800 CAD

  US Pay Range For This Role

  $111,500—$156,100 USD
