What you'll do:
Position Overview:
The Senior Test Engineer that will support test and verification activities for our mechanical systems in Aerial Refueling and Life Support product lines. This position will be responsible for supporting and delivering the product development verification activities from generating test procedures, conducting testing, and reporting of all formal qualification tests. The selected person work with junior level test engineers and will report to individual Program Team Managers and IPT Leads.
In this function you will:
• Leads and executes qualification and certification programs in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements
• Works with program management and a cross functional team within an integrated product team environment to actively manage project Verification and Validation (V&V) execution
• Develops integrated program plans for V&V activities to include: defining tasks, resource requirements, text events, test configuration and hardware planning, test facility selection and coordination
• Ensures executable validation and verification program plan for system and component designs, inclusive of an effective risk and opportunity management program
• Works directly with customers and suppliers to manager verification of system level and component level qualification programs
• Responsible for organizing complex and dynamic activities for the qualification and certification of designs
• Leads or assists in root cause problem solving activities using standard methods, processes, and techniques
• Establishes and oversees performance of qualification program plans, on-and off site functional and environmental tests, engineering analyses, inspections and demonstration events
• Create test plans to support analysis and monitor testing of product
• Ability to coach and mentor test engineers in developing verification program plans
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
• 2 years of mechanical or test engineering experience
• Ability to travel 25% of the time
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which may be subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 4 years aerospace mechanical systems design verification experience
• Demonstrated experience in authoring high quality test plans, procedures and reports.
• Demonstrated experience in DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 or MIL-STD-461 or FAA Regulations
• Knowledge of aerospace systems, oxygen, hydraulic, or other mechanical system desired.
• Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
• Experience with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project desired.
• Working knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOE) is desired.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment a plus.
• Creativity, initiative, and self-starter desired.
• Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation.
• Leadership skills with strong customer presence.
• Structured and systematic problem solving techniques and DFSS is a plus.
