Your Mission: The RTSM Sr. Technical Specialist is a technical expert in the Professional Services organization focusing on training and mentoring our customers on both Rave EDC and RTSM to establish the foundations of these Medidata Clinical Cloud Products on our Unified Platform. Using your technical experience in Rave EDC and RTSM study builds within the clinical development environment, you will be a key member of the Medidata Professional Services team driving the successful implementation and adoption of our RTSM product and services.
Key activities performed by the RTSM Sr. Technical Specialist from the Professional Services RTSM team will include: - Provide technical expertise during and after client Accreditation, Enablement and/or Workshop activities - Guide clients on the technical configuration implications of Rave RTSM and interdependencies with Rave EDC - Deliver new release technical overviews and knowledge transfer to clients (where applicable) - Share knowledge and best practices to support clients in the configuration, implementation and adoption of Medidata's RTSM product - Support less experienced team members with client engagements and implementations - Develop and maintain relationships with PS Rave EDC and Rave RTSM subject matter experts - Attend and contribute to key technical meetings in support of RTSM - Where appropriate develop client-specific technical materials to support the use of RTSM - Lead internal initiatives, e.g., process improvement, product improvement, identifying best practices and client standards - Support management in achievement of business objectives outside of client deliverables
The RTSM Sr. Technical Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a high-level of expertise for Medidata's RTSM and related products. They are expected to invest approximately 20% of their time in the following key internal Medidata activities: - Maintain individual Product and Industry expertise by attending regular Product Training and external industry training, e.g. conferences. - Participate in the RTSM internal user group meetings, and Implementation Consulting Excellence (ICE) workstreams and initiatives - Provide technical support to the maintenance and development of the accreditation program for the RTSM product, ensuring it is kept up to date and relevant with new release information - Support technical training of wider Professional Services team to enhance RTSM Product and Industry knowledge across team - Provide technical input to Medidata's implementation process, best practices and collateral roadmaps - Attend RTSM-specific Product Forums related to Medidata Clinical Cloud Products Provide technical input to Medidata Academy on the development of training plans and collateral - Support Sales, Customer Success, and PS market segment teams in providing the best customer experience, understanding of our products and services, and positive sale opportunity - Comply with and enforce Medidata Standard Operating Procedures, processes and policies
Your Competencies:
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of Clinical trial software technology, in particular with RTSM / IRT systems and technologies, and with Rave EDC
- Excellent organizational, collaboration, team-building, communication presentation and writing skills
- Proven ability to successfully work independently on new projects and initiatives while also being able to collaborate with others when needed to achieve goals
- Ability to overcome obstacles, troubleshoot and reach resolutions
- Experienced in presenting to, consulting with, and advising customers
- Proven ability leading teams - both internal and customer - during the implementation of a 'change management' (or other) initiatives
- Willingness for up to 20% national/international travel time

Your Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in clinical development and/or software development environment preferred, with particular emphasis on RTSM/IRT or EDC/Data Management experience Prior Technical configuration or clinical programming experience with Rave architect and Rave RTSM preferred
- Minimum 4-year university/college degree or equivalent (science or analytic discipline a plus)
- Medidata employees: At a minimum Implementation Consultant or Project Manager level (or above)
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $96,000-128,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $101,250-135,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $94,500-126,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $84,375-112,500.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $85,500-116,057.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
