What You Will Do:
Stryker is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Development Engineer for its core clinical workflow platform engine. The workflow engine notifies clinicians of events in real time allowing rapid assessment and responses. At the core of the platform is a framework for the real-time processing of events from a myriad of input adapters and a rules engine to figure out when a significant event should be sent to an output adapter.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and unit-test core platform functions that involve jRuby, Java, platform APIs, and framework for integration, all running in a Java EE/OSGi app server on a Linux applianceLead design and implementation of new and existing features on the platformLead the scoping and planning of engineering development projectsBecome a go-to expert in one or more critical technical aspects of platform (persistence, messaging, performance management, etc.)Follow software engineering best practices utilizing the Agile development methodologyCollaborate across a dynamic geographically dispersed teamSupport resolutions to difficult technical issues that have escalated to tier 3
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field6+ years of software development experience on successfully deployed productsJava programmingExperience working with Linux/Unix systemsExperience working with SQL / PostgreSQLExperience working on scalable, distributed systemsSolid understanding of Microservices or similar approachesShown coding discipline - experience with Git, Jira (or similar) with change commit/merge workflows, Jenkins basedExperience with CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science or related fieldExperience with Cloud/hybrid architecturesRuby experiencePython experienceKotlin experienceJava EE development on OSGi or an Enterprise container such as JBoss, WildFly, WebSphere, WebLogic
