Senior Staff Engineer/ Principal Engineer - Manufacturing

Position Summary
The Subject Matter Expert across a number of Engineering competencies including Cleaning & Packaging, Lean six sigma, Manufacturing and Automation. The Senior Staff Engineer (or Principal Engineer) will provide technical leadership in the Stryker facility particularly around Cleaning and Packaging.
They will possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization and deliver complex assignments.
They will also be responsible for the future strategic plan & execution of that plan with a focus on new technology and automation.
What you will do
Provide Technical leadership & oversight to Operations Engineering & Technicians.Develop the technology roadmap for the Cleaning & Packaging Business.Partner with an assigned functional manager and as technical lead, develop & coach the engineering team and help form Individual Development plans - training, coaching, assigning mentors etc.Drive high levels of employee engagement through a highly effective support structure implemented for all engineers. Develop detailed understanding of best practice of packaging product/process performance within the medical devices industry.Develops technical solutions to complex technical problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.Ownership of some of the Business KPI'sSupport to NPI's / Product Transfers / Process Development / Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process.Management of significant Engineering projects through PMO.Development and execution of validation strategies.Develop the cost reduction activities within the business units.Development & execution of lean manufacturing and automation within the manufacturing area.Ensure quality of process and product as defined in appropriate Standards and Material specifications. Interface with Materials Science, Design and Quality Assurance departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner.Validation, Appraisal and support of suppliers, and raw material.Communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents.Develop support network of key divisional/corporate leaders academic and supplier partners to enhance understanding of product manufacture and quality.
What you will need:
Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent technical experience is required.Has minimum of 6 years' experience. Strong manufacturing background essential from medical device or similar regulated industry (Food, electronics, process, etc).Experience in automation, cleaning, packaging or labelling systems would be desirable.Demonstrated experience in resolving design and process related packaging issues on commercial products would be desirable.
