The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Specialties Engineering Manager to support Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) programs located in El Segundo, CA; Huntsville, AL; or Saint Charles, MO. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, program leadership, peers, and direct reports across the SI&WS division.
We are looking for a talented and creative senior engineering leader who is passionate about solving complex problems by applying engineering analyses, business judgement, and creative thinking. The selected candidate will lead high-performing teams of Specialty Engineering managers and engineers in a dynamic and fast-paced environment supporting Space Intelligence and Weapons Systems programs. Specialty Engineering includes a diverse and talented engineering team with technical depth in the areas of Reliability Maintainability & System Health (RMSH), Space and Ground Contamination Control, and Space Survivability Design and Analysis (Radiation, Grounding, Single Event Effects, ESD, Micrometeoroid and Orbital Debris, and EMI/EMC). In addition, the candidate will maintain a culture of inclusion, continuous learning, and professional development.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the SI&WS Specialty Engineering organization to ensure proper representation, funding, and execution on SI&WS programs to provide our customers with reliable and maintainable productsDevelop and execute strategies to develop a strong Specialty Engineering organization that actively provides development opportunities and job assignments to grow Specialty Engineering talent and enhance employee performanceLead SI&WS Specialty Engineering Capability initiativesPartner with Enterprise Specialty Engineering management peers to create loan-in/out opportunities and cross-training opportunitiesPromote employee recognition and build a culture that improves employee satisfaction and retains a skilled and motivated workforce
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Work Authorization:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering or science related field5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role5+ years of experience leading and/or performing analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance or other specialties engineering disciplines
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Security Clearance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: 178,500 - 258,750
