Job Description:
As a Systems Engineer you will be involved in activities directly related to the design, and development of complex, specialized hardware/software systems to process and manipulate ISR data from multiple data sources.
Essential Functions:
Works closely with the customer to comprehensively design and implement new system functionality. Writes requirements, supports development, performs integration testing of new or modified products in a Systems Integration Laboratory and on airborne and ground-based platforms. Verifies and validates new baseline functionality while ensuring legacy functionality continues to work as intended.
Will interface with other Systems Engineers, Agile Development Engineering, Flight Line Test, Product Development and Project Engineering to understand new baseline functionality.
Follows existing standards to document system testing status and anomalies with system hardware and software and verifies subsequent anomaly fixes.
Interfaces with the customer to ensure their satisfaction with system performance.
Will work with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.
Will provide regular status updates for ongoing work efforts to management and the customer.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree strongly desired. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Must possess an active DoD Top Secret with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship. An active TS/SCI is preferred.
Background or understanding of computer architecture and software architecture concepts and messaging.
Experience with requirements definition, flow-down, and traceability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must be willing and willing to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Master's degree is desirable.
Familiarity with interferometry-based collection systems including knowledge and design of pulse processing, exploitation, and data dissemination techniques.
Experience or in-depth understanding of Net-Centric Collaborative Targeting (NCCT) and Theater Net-Centric Geolocation.
Experience in design, development and/or testing of COMINT/ELINT systems.
Hands-on experience integrating complex software intensive systems in a lab and/or aircraft environment.
Experience with the Agile development methodology (Kanban, Scrum, SaFE, etc.).
