  Position Description:

  Senior Specialist, Finance Planning & Analysis

  Under the guidance of the Clinical Development Finance Associate Director, the Finance Senior Specialist will:

  Provide financial planning, forecasting and analytical support for assigned Clinical Development Teams.

  Forecast grant spend related to Vaccines clinical studies and potentially other Therapeutic Areas, as well as providing financial support for associated collaborations with external partners in these clinical areas.

  Be the primary point of Finance contact with stakeholders including the Global Project Manager, Global Trial Manager, Clinical Sub Team, Clinical Trial Team and Outsourced Trial Team for all project issues related to study budget, site and vendor related payments, asset valuation and impairment.

  Develop and participate in team presentations to the Financial & Operational Review Committee, Late Development Review Committee and Discovery and Translational Research Committee.

  Support project team decision making by providing relevant financial information and insight.

  Play a central role in developing the Profit Plan, Long Range Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts, and Monthly Refreshes at the clinical study level.

  Review of all US site payments related to visits completed, milestones completed and reimbursement for out of pocket expenses according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, the Sarbanes Oxley Act as well as internal and external accounting guidance.

  This is a unique opportunity to:

  Gain end-to-end exposure of our Company's drug development process and the R&D pipeline while gaining relevant experience supporting clinical out of pocket spend for the Global Clinical Development department.

  Influence and impact by helping clients navigate a world of almost limitless scientific opportunities with limited financial resources. A background in Science is helpful but not necessary.

  Further develop your creative thinking and problem-solving skills as many problems don’t have hard anchor points or routine analytical approaches.

  Increase your network through engagement with other business partners (Project Mgmt., Procurement, GCTO, etc.)

  Position Qualifications :

  Education Minimum Requirement:

  Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Science or Engineering.Required Experience and Skills:

  Minimum of 2 years of operations or Finance experiencePreferred Experience and Skills:

  MBA or other Masters/PhD in Business, Finance, Science or Engineering

  Excellent analytical skills and the ability to develop business operations models

  Strong financial acumen

  Proactive approach to problem solving

  Results and process-driven orientation

  Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a challenging and complex environment

  Demonstrated ability to influence, build and maintain diverse client and peer relationships

  Sound and balanced judgment, with the ability to assess and handle risk

  Excellent communications skills

  Strong computer skills especially working with SAP, BPC and MS Excel

  U.S. Hybrid Work Model

  Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.   Expected salary range:

  $101,100.00 - $159,100.00
