The job includes all parts of software development lifecycle: refining product vision, gathering requirements, software system design, coding, testing, release and support. As our team is spread around the globe, you will work collaboratively with other team members from different locations.

Who are you?
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (or an equivalent level of practical experience).
5+ years of professional expertise as a full stack developer.Display proficiency in languages like Java and/or Scala, along with Apache Spark, Google Protobuf, and Apache Parquet. Additionally, well-versed in utilizing AWS technologies such as Amazon EMR, S3, EC2, and Athena.Skillfully navigate software development environments including Eclipse and IntelliJ Idea, while also being adept with Maven, version control systems (GitLab), and CI/CD pipelines.Acquainted with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, and knowledgeable about various deployment approaches.Exhibit exceptional aptitude in tackling intricate issues, showcasing adeptness in identifying and resolving technical hurdles.Showcase robust communication and collaborative abilities, effectively contributing within a team-based setting.Possess an inherent enthusiasm for continuous learning and a commitment to remaining current with the latest trends and technologies in software development.

HERE is searching for a Software Engineer II (Backend) for our Foundation Engineering team. Foundation Engineering enables the creation of mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time.
The Software Engineer II (Backend) will be a major contributor on the team to deliver digital maps to major automakers, for e.g. BMWs, VWs, Audi, Daimler. You will work on a technology to collect and process road information from many sources, terabytes of data, including car sensors from millions of cars on the road. Our services convert this input into a digital map which is delivered back to the cars and used for navigation, driver assistance and even autonomous driving.
