Here at Collins Aerospace, our Strategic Platforms team creates the software and systems designed to pull all those pieces & equipment together into one cohesive system that communicates with internal systems as well as systems on the ground and elsewhere, greatly reducing workload on the user. The Strategic Platforms Department is looking for Software Engineers who are interested in experiencing all elements of the communication design process including system-level trades, requirements development, communication system architecture and design, performance assessment, integration and test, verification, validation and support of fielded products. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

What YOU will do:
YOU will help build up our team of software integrators to diversify and ramp up for future programs on the horizon.
YOU will be responsible for System-of-systems integration, troubleshooting and verification testing.
YOU will work with client and platform integration and troubleshooting.
YOU will be responsible for systems related documentation development & End-user training.
YOU will support platform and client OEMs with the integration of Collins-developed hardware.
YOU will coordinate with internal systems, hardware, and software product design teams.
YOU will also coordinate and troubleshoot with external teams which will include some off-site travel.
What you will learn:
You will learn about the protocols used on the networks and buses between systems and subsystems in our avionics solutions.
You will learn the key software integration points for multiple Avionics subsystems, including OS configurations, device drivers, network I/O, memory access, and Avionics bus data access.
You will learn about avionics architectures through participation in design discussions for new mission features.
Education & Experience:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.Qualifications you must have:
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with C/C++ programming languages.
Experience with Python scripting.
Experience with interface definition and network protocols.
Skills we value:

Experience with DO-178 development processes.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
