Beckman Coulter is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, CDS Solutions, based at Danaher’s India Development Center (IDC), at state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore or remote from other locations in India. IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 650+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, SCIEX and Cepheid. The IDC workforce is comprised of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for Clinical Decision Support, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Architects, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
Role Description
As the Senior Software Engineer, CDS Solutions, you will be responsible for advancing new product development as part of a collaborative engineering team for the CDS Solutions business. In this role, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, CDS Solutions, you will help shape an innovative digital diagnostics portfolio of new offerings that use machine learning and AI technology to improve clinical outcomes, and you will collaborate with a team of highly skilled software engineers and data scientists to deliver these predictive analytics to healthcare providers via cloud-based EHR-integrated clinical decision support (CDS) solutions. Beckman Coulter is looking for a passionate and ambitious engineer to join us in this cutting-edge digital healthcare transformation journey; someone who is driven by our strong sense of purpose to improve patient health. We are seeking a candidate who is comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency and proven ability to navigate an agile environment.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and document web applications that meet intended user needs, architectural plans, and system requirements and are scalable, extensible, and highly secure.
Champion and use software best practices throughout the development process, including the use of design patterns, static code analysis, unit testing, and automated deployment.
Leverage healthcare standards to integrate seamlessly into clinical systems and workflows, robustly addressing data privacy, security, authentication, auditing and other essential functions.
Collaborate with a cross functional team of systems engineers, developers, architects, product managers and clinicians to determine the best design to deliver CDS solutions to hospital customers.
Partner with quality and regulatory teams to ensure solutions meet software as a medical device (SaMD) regulatory and quality control requirements as needed.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and standards inside and outside of the healthcare space and recommend technologies to best fit business needs.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Engineering with a minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in software engineering roles and expertise in .Net C#, React and JavaScript
Experience developing healthcare SaaS solutions, integrating with APIs, and working with popular cloud technologies such as AWS, MS Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications (e.g. Epic and Cerner) and interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, SMART on FHIR
Excellent technical, troubleshooting & mentoring skills
Ability to derive solid detailed design by understanding the system architecture and requirements
Significant experience working with agile software development methods, such as scrum and Kanban and exposure to working within CI/CD pipelines.
Experience developing regulated medical device software that strictly adheres to design controls and quality management system requirements
Ability to work effectively across multiple departments, countries, and time zones
Self-motivated to complete tasks timely with competence; driven to self-educate and improve processes
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to build trust
Results oriented with focused urgency, prioritization skills and ability to recognize/escalate issues appropriately
Can comprehend product specifications, architectural and high-level design, functional specifications.
Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
