The Senior Data Engineer will develop applications using Scala-Spark on Azure Databricks. This person will be able to make an impact on improving our operational processes. In this role, the successful candidate will help R1 develop products from ideation to implementation. You’ll work with a software engineering team to build the architecture, design and implement new features and take the lead to launch new products.
Responsibilities:
Seeking a Senior Data Engineer able to deliver state of the art solutions using the Spark Framework and Scala in Azure Databricks. The selected candidate will bring their advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to provide support in enhancing business operations.
Develop Data applications using Scala-Spark on Azure Databricks.
Lead large projects, anticipating infrastructure and architectural needs before they arise
Research, adopt and advocate for new technologies
Collaborate with members of project teams to ensure successful, technically sound projects which are completed on time and on budget
Ensure that process design documents are prepared, maintained, and updatedto align to processes and operational workflows.Build automations that are efficient, well structured, maintainable & easy to understand
Complete thorough testing of automation in training/production environments
Support existing processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process
Create and document test procedures and scenarios for all pre-production phases
Work collaboratively with operational and technical teams to deliver projects by assigned deadlines
Required Qualifications:
Must have strong knowledge of Scala/Spark Framework.
8 years of software development experience, with a primary focus on writing new code to deliver, new functionality and enhancements.
Collaborate with other developers in the team and product managers on daily basis to identify the right technical solutions that achieve product goals
Proficient in writing clean, readable, and secure code.
Feel comfortable participating in 2-week sprint development cycles.
Technical Skills :
Strong knowledge of Scala/Spark Framework and Architecture
Experience developing applications using Scala in Azure Databricks
Experience in testing data processing/transformation code in a big data environment, with knack for optimizing DAGs
In-depth knowledge of using Azure Data Factory to build orchestration pipelines
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure stack (App Services, Azure Storage Accounts, App Insights, Data Factory and Databricks).
Working knowledge of .NET / C# would be desirable
Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Desired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience in developing Healthcare applications
Passionate about software and quality
Microsoft Azure certifications would be preferable but not mandatory
Able to quickly learn new systems and technology
Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $63,140.06 - $143,517.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
