We’re seeking a Talented and Mission Driven Sr. Software Engineer to join our OPERA Cloud Engineering team. As a Sr. Software Engineer you will apply your expertise and energy to design and implement key components of the Hotel Product Suites. You will utilize your knowledge of software designing to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Responsibilities:
Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for assigned functional areas of OPERA suits of products. Tasks include writing functional specifications, design documentation, coding, unit testing, debugging, integration, performance tuning, and maintenance of assigned software modules
Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging applications
Acts as individual contributor as well as team member
Usually works with little supervision, conferring with superiors on unusual or extremely complex matters Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity
May provide guidance, assistance, and technical leadership to lower level software engineers on more complex/large projects
Interacts internally/externally on an as needed basis to exchange information
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills as well as relationship building competencies
Fully competent in own area of expertise
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related (Ideally in computer science or engineering)
5+ years of IT experience.
Proficiency in J2EE and MVC pattern
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Helidon based Micro-services development
Working knowledge of Cloud Native technologies
Experience in Framework and Platform designing
Experience in SOAP Services and REST APIs
Oracle Database programming including Database design, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
Experience in Oracle ADF or Oracle JET is a plus

Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
