What you'll do...
SPECTRA team owns and support the successful deployment of several traditional and specialized tools within Global Tech Platform. Our customers utilize our orchestration and middleware tools for both their real time as well as batch job workload executions. We support customers in the public cloud, private cloud, and Walmart data centers. We strive to provide a highly stable and resilient environment to our application teams, so they can focus on what matters most - supporting Walmart customers and members.
About Team:
Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.
What you'll do and Required Skills:
Experience developing applications using JVM languages like Java/Kotlin
Experience with non-Java JVM languages (e.g. Kotlin, Scala etc.)
Familiarity with Java/JVM build & dependency management systems (e.g. Gradle, Maven, etc.)
Good understanding of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) performance analysis and tuning using tools like JFR and Async Profiler.
Good understanding of garbage collection and memory management within the JVM.
Experience with hands-on Java to help identify the bottlenecks very easily with JVM, GC, memory leaks, code refactoring, etc.
Gain a deep understanding of how JVM works (thread, heap, native memory, hotspot...).
Understand systems environments like shared resources, components, and services, CPU, memory, storage, network, and soft resources and the differences between production and test environments like containers, cloud, virtualization, and configuration management.
Extensive usages of application performance monitoring tools like Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics and Splunk.
Willing to learn different business and product user scenarios related to peak traffic patterns, workload behavior etc.
Ready to define and execute proof of concepts, document and demonstrate observations.
Experience running various performance tests in a cloud environment such as Azure, GCP, OpenStack
Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Additional Skills:
Experience with configuring and implementing Container based and Orchestration techniques using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience implementing and configuring Cloud Architecture, AWS, Azure, GCP, and OpenStack for critical application migrations and building new cloud environments.
Experience with creating real-time analytic dashboards for leadership using Grafana, Prometheus, and Tableau.
Experience implementing and configuring database technologies which includes NoSQL including MongoDB and Cassandra, as well as traditional databases including E-Business Suite, Fusion Middleware, Data Guard, and Database Administration.
Experience with implementation of DevOps leveraging technologies including Jira, ServiceNow, Change Control, and DevOps for program success.
Experience with implementation of different project management techniques to bring in process by leveraging models including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SDLC, ITIL, Scaled Agile, and Project Management methodologies.
Experience implementing Conflict Resolution, Build and Release Management to avoid blockers.
Experience with implementation of deployment techniques for continues improvement and continuous delivery using Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket, and Ansible.
Experience with implementing and configuration log analyzing technologies using Splunk, AppDynamics, Akamai, Confluence, and Git.
Experience understanding of Network Architecture for Application Migration and implementing Cloud build or on on-premises environment build.
