  Job Description

  Elavon (Elavon is a part of the U.S. Bank family) is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer.

  This position is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. This role takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to Company standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. This position works with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

  Specific duties include: (1) designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products; (2) taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; (3) creating creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs; (4) making sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront; (5) taking feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards; (6) conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures; (7) ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; (8) exhibiting relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards; (9) embracing emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the Company’s technology transformation; (10) contributing to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement; (11) reviewing tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; (12) anticipating and communicating blockers and delays before they require escalation; (13) working with large scale customer facing enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot Frameworks, Spring Boot 2.0, and Rest API’s; (13) creating project proposals and designs that have considerable impact or touch multiple systems; and (14) utilizing AWS Cloud Experience. This position utilizes the following technologies: Spring, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, Junit, Python, Jenkins, Linux, and Azure. Telecommuting available anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55402.

  Basic Qualifications:

  This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience.

  Required Skills/Experience:

  Must also have 12 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures; (2) ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; (3) taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; (4) working with large scale customer facing enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot Frameworks, Spring Boot 2.0, and Rest API’s; and (5) utilizing the following technologies: Spring, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, Junit, Python, Jenkins, Linux, and Azure. Telecommuting available anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55402. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $135,200 - $171,000
