Amazon's AWS Infrastructure team builds and manages Amazon's worldwide data centers. We are seeking an experienced developer to design and develop interfaces for managing and controlling power and cooling equipment in our data centers worldwide.
The effectiveness and value of the systems we build are influenced and controlled by the interfaces they expose to their users. You should be a talented and experienced full stack with a focus on frontend development with expertise in web UI and AJAX-based interactive application development. High volume, Real-Time UX. You should have a background in the fundamentals of software development, and have a deep understanding of best practices in various languages/technologies. You should love creating things and take great personal pride in building engaging and innovative interfaces.
Key job responsibilities
The InfraMap team is the authority for Data Center Services (DCS) UI/UX, presenting a consolidated holistic view of AWS Data Centers. Users – InfraOps (Data Center Engineering Operations, Data Center Operations, Logistics), Field Engineering, Data Center Capacity Planning, Data Center Global Services (DCGS) management – use real-time and historical visualizations, insights and control from the InfraMap user interfaces to proactively mitigate issues before they impact customers as well as triage them as they occur. DCGS also leverages these insights to optimize data center operations which in turn allows AWS to reduce cost to customers.

InfraMap is the authoritative team for DCS UI/UX for presenting consolidated holistic views of AWS operational as related to power and cooling largely eliminating the need for vendor specific systems in the data center and in the cloud.
Consolidated single view into the health of all data centers around the world
Predictive information to prevent Large Scale Events (LSEs) by leveraging ML and historical data
Visualization of information including power, cooling, water, thermal, server and physical security for each data center
Single source for data center LSE management and resolution
Self-service capabilities to model physical layouts of data centers equipment and sensors including: electrical, cooling and security
Succinct dashboards and wallboards for real-time status
Data Provenance for all data and an access path to its source

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Master's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
