Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center, Warren MI three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role – As a GPSC Social Responsibility Analyst, you will join our Socially Responsible and Sustainable Supply Chains Team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a team responsible for developing and implementing the company's ethical sourcing processes, policies, and goals. This presents a unique opportunity supporting the further development of our program and conducting governance activities driving our program forward.

Building strong relationships with GM suppliers, industry partners, and associations will be a key aspect of your role, while ensuring alignment and collaboration both internally and externally. You will collaborate closely with various business units within GM, including Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC), Communications, Legal, Compliance, Public Policy, and others.
Your main focus will be on social sustainability, but you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who are integrating environmental sustainability into GM's global supply chain. Your responsibilities will involve developing and implementing strategies and techniques to drive organizational change and embed ethical sourcing practices throughout the supply chain.
As a Social Responsibility Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving forward our ethical sourcing program in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This will require a strong drive to thoroughly examine problems, a passion to uphold GM’s Supplier Code of Conduct and the ability to work with stakeholders to develop implementable solutions.
One of your key responsibilities will be program management of high visibility initiatives, making excellent communication skills essential. You will have the opportunity to interface with senior leaders within GPSC, as well as across GM, contributing to the overall success of the program.
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert on ethical sourcing and supply chain human rights due diligence within the company. You may also be called upon to act as a primary contact and represent GM in forums with suppliers and industry associations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will actively contribute to sharing the GM story through various platforms and methods.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Manage internal processes and systems that enable program adoption and performance
Benchmark and stay connected to external developments in the supply chain due diligence and ethical sourcing spaces
Conduct ethical sourcing due diligence activities within GM’s global supply chain
Support suppliers’ adoption of ethical sourcing policies, programs and procedures
Support, and at times develop, strategy and content for the ethical sourcing program, internally and externally through various channels and media
Develop and deliver presentations for use inside GM and externally to communicate and educate others on various aspects of ethical sourcing
Analyze metrics and data and provide recommendations and continuous improvements based on scientific methodology and trends
Lead supplier engagement activities
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Human Rights/Ethics, Business, Supply Chain Management or related required
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Prior experience in the areas of compliance, sustainability, environmental performance, and reporting are an asset
Experience in leading projects, employee engagement, and/or consulting
Strong communication, and presentation skills
Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed
Fundamental computer skills including working knowledge of internet services, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge ( Preferred Qualifications)
MBA or related advanced degree
Solid knowledge of ESG/Human Rights legislation
