　　Job Description As a part of the Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Organization of VISA, Sr. Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to critical applications. In this position, you will be responsible for root cause analysis, applying operation break fixes and other enthusiastic maintenance activities to keep critical application up and running 24x7. This is a professional level position and requires execution and analytical abilities. You will interact with Systems, Database personnel, Engineering, Product Development, Risk and various groups within Technology. Linux/Unix capabilities, communication and analytical skills are important to find success in this role. This role will expose you to many different technical disciplines needed to support world-class applications.

　　Essential Functions:

　　The Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) group prides itself in keeping the applications and systems of Visa up and running to cater to the 24*7 needs of the business

　　Provide technical support to Tier 0 Applications ensuring it meets all service level agreements and team objectivesParticipate in root cause and analysis (RCA) for issues encountered for associated servicesAssist in disaster recovery plan without impacting any related servicesImplement extensive application monitoring objectivesImplement self-healing services to minimize or eliminate downtimeImplement application and system changes according to best practiceWork with the development team to resolve issues, enhance applications, and adviceParticipate on the on-call rotationResolve incidents and problems in accordance within defined guidelines and meet operational level agreementsAbility to work after hours including weekends, night, early morning on rotational shifts  

　　This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

　　Qualifications Basic Qualifications:

　　• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD) OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

　　• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills mindset

　　• Basic understanding of infrastructure components like Linux Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, Containers, Database, MQ or KAFKA, Middleware JVMs, Storage etc.

　　• Experience in supporting Web services (API) or Web UI or Batch applications based on Linux, Java, BASH, Python, Perl, Oracle, DB2, Hazelcast and Hadoop a plus

　　• Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as Firewalls, Load Balancer, DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, PKI, SSL, TLS, Digital Certificates, Encryption, Security Scanning or equivalent

　　• Strong ability to self-learn new technologies

　　• Experience with external application monitoring tools such as Catchpoint, ThousandEyes, Splunk, OperA or equivalent a plus

　　• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and managers

　　• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required

　　• Experience in managing Internet facing applications with stringent SLA goal and 24x7 global delivery model a plus

　　• Familiar with ITIL standards or Service now a plus

　　Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
