Job Duties : Support biotherapeutic lead discovery efforts utilizing mass spectrometry-based characterization methods, including intact protein analysis, peptide mapping for post-translational modification characterization, and Hydrogen/Deuterium Exchange (HDX) Mass Spectrometry (MS). Provide practical protein mass spectrometry expertise at an industry leading level. Propose and implement new experimental designs and concepts that contribute to research goals and identify potential patentable inventions. Keep abreast of relevant literature and serve as resource in area of specialized expertise. Develop and maintain outside visibility.
Work Schedule : 40 hours per week (8:00am to 5:00pm)
Job Requirements : Ph.D. degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field OR Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have working knowledge of the following skills gained through coursework or experience: Hydrogen/Deuterium Exchange (HDX) Mass Spectrometry (MS), including experiment design, execution, data processing and interpretation using HD Examiner software; performing HDX experiments to study deamidation, aggregation mechanisms and kinetics; and, Liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation, including routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
