Senior SAP FICO Functional Consultant
The primary objective of the Senior SAP FICO Functional Consultant is to ensure the delivery of SAP FICO scope services to clients in line with the contract and maintaining high-quality standards. This individual will be an integral part of the Operations organization and will be based in Calgary, AB, Canada.
Key responsibilities:
Over 5 years of experience in SAP FI and CO modules, encompassing Joint Venture Accounting, SAP Treasury, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cost and Profit Center Accounting (CPA), Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, Project Systems, Results Analysis, Unsettled Costs, Month End Close, Year End Close, Overhead assessment and settlement, Assets accounting, and Internal Orders.
Strong hands-on experience and knowledge in the design, configuration, and testing of core Financial Accounting (FI) and Managerial Accounting (CO).
Expertise in joint venture accounting modules.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to comprehend financial processes and gather requirements.
Manage Month-end and Year-end activities for the business.
Handle high severity tickets and Consolidation configuration.
Hands-on experience and knowledge of Bank accounting and Bank interfaces.
Conduct detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and propose appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate, and document customer requirements.
Seek opportunities for business systems improvement.
Assist in the testing process to identify errors and issues in business processes, documentation, or user experience.
Provide application support and end-user training.
Collaborate with consultants from other modules such as MM, PM, PP, and PS.
Facilitate workshops to gather business requirements.
Map client business requirements, processes, and objectives; develop necessary product modifications to meet client needs.
Design, customize, configure, and test FI/CO modules.
Identify gaps, issues, and workable solutions.
Act as a liaison with the client for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve software problems.
Document functional designs, test cases, and results.
Proactively suggest business process and/or system enhancements.
Offer consulting services for both new implementations and existing support projects.
Act as a liaison between business functions and the technical team.
Provide ad-hoc training and user support when required.
Work self-directed and independently; may serve as a subject matter mentor to junior team members.
Required Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in full-cycle implementation and support projects.
At least 5 years of SAP experience supporting General Ledger and a minimum of 3 or more of the following functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Inter-company Accounting, Project System.
Experience in FI integration points with other SAP modules like MM, HR, PP, and PM.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects simultaneously.
Experience in a Professional Services or Distribution company is an asset.
Understanding of accounting business processes.
Ability to comprehend business processes from a customer perspective.
Capability to work effectively in a team environment and interact well with others.
