About Senior Risk Analyst

  Overview

  This position provides risk analytics and expert support at the highest level of operational complexity to business units. Creates methods to evaluate potential losses, and develops high-impact solutions to minimize or eliminate risk. Recommends and monitors enhancements to current processes and procedures, performing analysis and reporting in support of strategic objectives. Serves as a resource and may provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.

  Responsibilities

  Identifying Risk - Leads the design and implementation of process evaluation methods, and the development of expert solutions to address identified risks. Works closely with management to ensure risk strategies are effective and compliant. May involve creation, evaluation, and execution of models or simulation scenarios to test risk conditions.Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs complex analysis for risk trends and data discrepancies, and may direct the analytics efforts of the work group.Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, company trends, and risk factors. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement. Enables insight into potential losses and mitigation of identified risks through reporting activities.Operational Support - Supports business processes through a variety of escalated operational tasks. Develops, implements, and ensures continuous improvement of procedures. Acts as a resource to management and other associates, including production of documentation, presentations, or other materials to educate on risk policies and procedures. Handles complex technical matters and participates in special projects.Remote eligible.The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $97,900 to $169,700 per year.   Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Risk management, or financial analysis, or statistical modeling OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Risk management, or financial analysis, or statistical modeling

  Toolset Skills Required: Excel, Tableau, SAS, SQL

  Excel Skills

  Data Entry and Formatting: Entering and formatting data, using different data types, and applying basic formatting to make data readable.Basic Formulas and Functions: Using simple functions like SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, and understanding cell references (relative, absolute, mixed).Creating Basic Charts: Building basic charts like bar, line, and pie charts to visualize data.Managing Worksheets: Inserting, deleting, moving, and copying worksheets.Using Basic Text Functions: Familiarity with functions like CONCATENATE (or CONCAT), LEFT, RIGHT, MID.Sorting and Filtering Data: Basic sorting and filtering to manage and analyze datasets.Using more complex functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, and nested functions.PivotTables and PivotCharts: Creating and manipulating PivotTables and PivotCharts for summarizing and analyzing large datasets.Intermediate Conditional Formatting: Applying and customizing more complex rules and understanding how to use formula-based conditional formatting.Working with Multiple Worksheets and Workbooks: Linking data across multiple sheets and workbooks, consolidating data.Advanced Charting: Creating complex and dynamic charts, like waterfall, Pareto, and combo charts, and using advanced charting features.Advanced PivotTable Features: Using slicers, timelines, calculated fields, and items in PivotTables.Lookup Functions: Mastery of advanced lookup functions and techniques, including XLOOKUP and array formulas.Error Checking and Data Troubleshooting: Identifying and correcting errors in formulas and data.Power Query (Get & Transform): Importing, transforming, and automating the data cleaning process using Power Query.Power Pivot and DAX: Leveraging Power Pivot and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for advanced data modeling and analysis.Designing interactive, dynamic dashboards for reporting.Data Security: Protecting workbooks, worksheets, and ranges, and understanding data sharing and security best practices.Performance Optimization: Enhancing performance of Excel workbooks, especially for large and complex datasets.Integration with Other Tools and Services: Integrating Excel with other applications and services, including the use of APIs and external databases.
