Job Description:
Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company is seeking a Senior Research Analyst II to work as a part of a team covering market research and analysis of the Plastic Recycling market. Key activities will be maintaining, updating, and expanding the various CMA databases and models within Circular Plastic Services Team.
Responsibilities
Work independently on moderately complex projects/ assignments related to the ongoing research & analysis for the Plastics Value Chain’s Transition from a Linear to a Circular Economy, and thus identifying and analyzing trends.
Take ownership and maintain the database of CPS products (especially Chemical/Mechanical Recycling, and Technology company profile), including capacities, charts and tables that are published routinely and update them as required.
Develop an understanding of the technologies for the collection and sorting aspects of plastics waste and implications from advancements in IND 4.0
Create presentation materials in Microsoft Power Point for meetings and conferences.
Respond to client questions and serve as a resource for client brainstorming/discussions.
Use intra-company global expertise and content to support platform deliverables.
Provide support to the Bespoke Research Group for single client project work.
Support existing clients with a focus on increasing Circular Plastic Services exposure inside client organizations.
Working with the product service leads, and engage with support functions, including Sales & Marketing, to facilitate business growth.
Assist senior colleagues and support the design/ preparation of content delivery tools that enhance our client’s experience.
Engage with other business lines to leverage the Chemical Market Analytics total solution.
Qualifications:
General chemical industry knowledge is essential, and previous experience of working in the Plastic Circularity sector will be preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite and Power BI. Candidate must have Advance level expertise in Microsoft Excel.
4-7 years industry experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
An engineering degree is essential, with a major in chemical engineering being preferred. MBA a strong plus.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines and with a high attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Confident to speak/present to global clients or any internal/external events. Confident to face challenges and requests from clients.
