  Position Summary

  The Repair & Maintenance Engineering position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. A Senior Professional position applies advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

  Responsibilities

  • Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision

  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals

  • Supports continuous improvement/automation activities

  • Plans and coordinates maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications

  • Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts

  • Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules

  • Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment

  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Other duties as assigned

  Minimum Qualifications

  Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
