The Senior Release (DevOps) Engineer is a strategic technologist that makes software engineering easier for teams. They collaborate with engineers across multiple business value streams to establish balance between the appropriate technology strategy, architecture, and tactical program delivery.

Responsibilities
A sustainable delivery model to help teams continuously deliver solutions to Production faster, more securely, with higher quality.
Keep up to date with DevSecOps best practices and identify trends to improve the software engineering experience at Manulife.
Engage IT stakeholders regularly to review the state of continuous delivery (CI\CD), code security and environment health.
Diagnosing, resolving problems in DevSecOps pipelines, high-throughput web applications & network services
Helping to develop, evangelize and rollout DevSecOps best practice principles with a focus on improving developer productivity.
Collaborate with engineers across multiple business value streams to establish balance between the appropriate technology strategy, architecture, and tactical program delivery.
Demonstrate an understanding of software engineering best practices that can be implemented to support Manulife's security standards.
Being able to influence, negotiate and adapt in a large financial global organization with ambitious digital goals.
Implement tools and processes that help to make software delivery easier for technology teams.
The ability to learn quickly and progress rapidly from theoretical technology concepts to real world delivery.
Bring a Platform-as-a-Product mindset to support engineering excellence.
Qualifications
A strategic technologist that makes software engineering easier for teams.
Success in rolling out solutions to improve developer productivity.
Working knowledge of one or more; Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, TeamCity.
Experience migrating traditional client/server technologies to a Platform as a Service model.
DevOps engineering skills and working knowledge of one or more: Python, JavaScript, Perl, YAML, Maven, Gradle, Terraform, Chef, Puppet.
Technical writing and developing business cases for technology solutions.
Knowledge of code quality and secure coding best practices.
