The anticipated salary range for this role is between $126,000.00 and $155,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. General Summary:
The Senior Relationship Manager (RM) position is an integral component of the South Bay Office’s sales strategy targeting existing clients and lower middle market prospects for deposit generation, business and consumer loans, cash management and international bank services. The RM works in concert with the Area Manager to achieve the unit’s Deposit and Loan production goals and profitability as set forth by the Bank. Industry experience in the area of Fiduciary and Trust & Estate Banking is a requirement to be considered for the position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the Area Manager in implementing the sales culture and functions as account manager for selected deposit relationships to ensure relationship profitability and customer service levels are maintained.
Strives to achieve targeted goals for the retention of existing accounts and growth of deposit balances as established.
Ensures resolution of customer inquiries, complaints and issues.
Assists Area Manager in providing proper training to non-officer staff so that a high level or morale is maintained and a proactive sales process is implemented.
Responsible for partial Area goals with respect to all facets of operation including deposits, fee income and loan goals.
Performs other related duties/projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent related banking experience.
5 to 7 years’ in the sales capacity is strongly preferred.
A record of success in sales generation (deposits, loans fee income) is required.
Knowledge of credit underwriting in the lower middle market is preferred, though not necessarily acquired through direct lending experience.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface in an effective and professional manner with customers and all levels of Bank personnel.
Must be high energy, self-motivated and have a desire to succeed based on own efforts.
Basic knowledge of Bank systems.
PC skills such as Word and Excel.
Position Specifications:
Education: College degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: 15 years of banking/lending experience.
Skills/ Qualifications: Ability to effectively interface with all levels of bank staff as well as a diverse base of customers. Ability to handle multi-tasks, plan and coordinate sales strategies towards accomplishment of bank goals. Must be able to review court order and legal documents, work with legal, compliance and operations in executing the new accounts process and meet with professionals and their clients to sign new account documents. Requires experience in the planning and attendance of conference events and managing conference vendor relationships. Strong sales presentation and networking skills required and must be available for overnight travel, early morning and late evening networking events.
