Eaton's Customer Projects organisation has a new exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer- Data Centres. Our Customer Projects organisation is focused on ensuring excellent customer experience and meeting our projects portfolio business targets by continuously improving our delivery processes and tools. As the Senior Project Engineer- Data Centres you will coordinate all engineering activities including design, development and control of the electrical systems for customer projects predominantly in the Data Centre industry.
What you'll do:
Working as an integral part of the customer Project execution team, the Senior Project Engineer will work on a hybrid model (3 days in the office) whilst travelling as needed ( around 25 % of the time) to the construction sites across EMEA region during pre-order/post order phases. The role requires an experienced, composed, highly motivated, Electrical Project Engineer who can effectively communicate and work with a wide variety of stakeholders in a dynamic environment and who demonstrate an understanding of all project's electrical requirements. You will work to specifications and liaise with engineering consultants, general contractors, subcontractors and clients.
Eaton's Data Centre projects can involve every aspect of power distribution from low to medium voltage, UPS (uninterrupted power supply), and automation such as EPMS (Energy Power Monitoring System). In this unique, exciting position you will bring electrical knowledge during Design and implementation until handover.
Responsibilities:
Technical Scope Management of projects including but not limited to CDE review and coordination with all relevant stakeholders from tendering to close-outEnsure technical alignment between projects and coordination with the customerSupport Project Management to manage technical risk by ensuring rapid sharing of lessons learned as well as coordination of approach for maximum effectAnalysing technical drawings, interpreting specifications, and determining the electrical requirements of a given projectCoordinating and liaising with Eaton engineers and clients to ensure overall project executionManaging and monitoring all assigned electrical projects to ensure documentation is delivered on timeEnsuring health and safety codes are obeyed at all timesCompleting quality assurance on electrical components and projects, and writing up reportsSupport Root cause analysisSite assignment for a short period of time can be necessary depending on the progress of the execution of the project
Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience in Electrical DesignKnowledge of cable installation regulationsKnowledge of construction management regulationsElectrical & System Engineering with power distribution knowledgeCustomer Project Management experienceDatacenter construction experience will be a plus but is not requiredUPS/MV and commissioning experience is a plusElectrical & System Engineering with power distribution knowledgeTechnical ability to write specifications and proceduresProject Management/Technical coordination
Skills:
Strong collaborative team player with interpersonal skillsComfortable providing technical presentations to peers, customers and leadership regarding the details of technical issues
