We are looking for a Senior Program Manager, Supply Chain – Equipment to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services.
Within CO+I, the strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Microsoft Cloud and our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Senior Program Manager, Supply Chain – Equipment.

Responsibilities
The Senior Program Manager, Supply Chain – Equipment is responsible for partnering with the broader Global Supply Chain teams including Planning & Analytics, Procurement, Supplier Quality and overall Special Projects team to ensure on time delivery to meet the on-time delivery for a large, complex capital project. This role will partner with workgroups to drive strategy development and compliance through supplier selection, supplier selection and award, and contract management.
Long Lead Equipment ( LLE) Design Management:
Creates, aligns, and maintains design strategies to continuously re-evaluate and improve Microsoft procurement of LLE Equipment.
Delivery and coordinate project design information – specification compliance documents / technical submittals (master & project level design).
Drives strategic initiatives and helps facilitate the appropriate rhythm of business (ROB) process.
Supplier Performance:
Develops and drives standards in negotiation strategies for long lead equipment.
LLE Supplier performance and interface with cross functional partners both internal and external.
Documentation and Tracking:
Oversee supplier submittal and Changes, Deviations & Exceptions (CD&E), Submittal process for Americas with end-to-end tracking for all LLE categories.
Internal/External Stakeholder Management.
Interface with Microsoft Engineering Team and Architectural Engineers ensuring agreement and compliance to Microsoft design standards, inclusive of scope demarcation with project General Contractors as well as Suppliers to drive alignment for LLE equipment.
Supplier Engagement:
Proactively partner with suppliers, category, & engineering to align running changes for equipment design changes.
Manage technical risk management of design information adopting Service Level Agreements/Key Performance Indicators (SLAs/KPIs) to ensure zero disruption to manufacturing lines.
Serves as contact point between suppliers, Engineer or record (EOR), Architectural Engineer (AE), engineering, & supply chain to manage and execute complex design alignment categories between suppliers and Microsoft.
Partnership:
Creates, communicates, and partners with quality & commissioning team to drive site installation exceptions and factory witness testing and management of first of kind.Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 6+ years experience (including internships) in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 5+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in driving sourcing strategy and supply chain execution for multiple categories including mechanical and/or electrical.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 8+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 7+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
OR equivalent experience
Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting.
Technical ability to write contracts, ability to set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them.
Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups across organizational levels.
Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management.
Ability to implement new processes and get buy in from a cross functional team.
Able to integrate successfully into large-scale construction projects - large dollar contracts of over $50 Million.
Sourcing and Category Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
