The Department of Pediatrics and the School of Public Health are jointly collaborating on an NIH grant to create a hospital and community based violence intervention program. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the coordination of grant activities, managing reports, budgets, and overall success of the program. The Senior Program Manager develops, plans and manages all activities of a school/unit program(s) or project(s). Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program.

Schedule: Full Time, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
Position Key Accountabilities:
Oversees all aspects of the program/project activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Provides direction and guidance to department personnel.
Stays abreast of new and updated protocols and policies and develops, implements, and manages internal policies and procedures.
Manages compliance and ensures the department follows internal and external rules, regulations and standards. Oversees inspections and/or reviews and ensures the appropriate personnel have the proper credentials and licensing needed.
Manages/maintains annual budget, negotiates service contracts, reports on progress and/or authorizes expenditures.
Provides guidance to upper management and keeps them informed of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.
Manages partnerships with internal departments regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.
Prepares progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies. May work closely with Office of Sponsored Projects on the submission of grants.
Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
Working in conjunction with Public Affairs, may create and edit various communications materials for the department/program, which may include printed materials, web site content and/or department newsletters.
Communicates with community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings.
Manages Human Resources activities for direct report in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training and development, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Qualifications
Certification/Skills:
May require program-specific certifications.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
Seven (7) years of applicable experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
