About Senior Program Manager, Kuiper Accounting

  Description

Amazon has an immediate opening for a Senior Program Manager to join the Accounting PMO within the Kuiper Accounting Organization. This position supports the launches of Project Kuiper, Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch, and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. It’s the Day 1 for Project Kuiper, Amazon’s next multi-billion-dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Program Manager to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology and information systems, who thinks and acts with a global view, and has the ability to create and implement solutions.

  Key job responsibilities

The leader in this position will manage accounting program/projects supporting Kuiper satellite-based internet service launch to global marketplaces via the business models with most economic benefits, and will work closely with business, finance, legal, tax, accounting, and various technical teams to drive the end to end project life cycle from requirements gathering, to project execution and testing, and to the production launch and post-launch hyper care. In this role, the candidate will be part of a team that collaborates with business finance and technical teams to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible. You will navigate through a large amount of ambiguity and drive consensus between cross-functional stakeholder groups. This role will also require crisp communication skills, experience communicating project status to a broad audience and ability to follow appropriate escalation channels to ensure delivery as planned.

  A day in the life

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the following three disciplines – Operational and/or Technical Accounting, Program Management, and Financial Systems Integration. Candidate experience should cover financial processes, project management, accounting requirements documentation, process design, and user acceptance testing responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in leading teams to accomplish unusually complex challenges is expected as this is an ongoing requirement for this position. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Arlington, VA, USA | Portland, OR, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

5+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

5+ years of driving process improvements experience

5+ years of experience working with major ERP (Oracle, SAP) or other accounting systems

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  Preferred Qualifications

Experience with project management with broad scope in a global organization

Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills
