Job Description:
As the Senior Product Strategy lead for Trade Promotion Optimization, you will play a key role in designing, developing and implementing a trade promotion optimization (TPO) ecosystem for delivering optimized trade promotion plans for Mars Wrigley US. The TPO tool will involve analysing market trends, consumer behaviour, and promotional effectiveness to ensure improved commercial decisions with greater returns on trade spending and higher customer profitability. The role sits within the One Demand Data & Analytics (ODDA) team and will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Strategic Revenue Management (SRM), Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply chain, Data Science and Data Engineering to develop and manage the end-to-end build of a best-in-class TPO tool that executes data driven trade promotion plans optimizing Return on Investments (ROIs) amongst others.
The successful candidate should bring deep functional and technical knowledge of Trade Promotion Management processes in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry and demonstrate examples of successful project implementations leading the solution from discovery through deployment and ongoing operations. Additionally, the candidate is a true collaborator with strong leadership skills, experience working in high performing teams, and a willingness to learn.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Craft a top-notch TPO solution by leveraging both internal and external experts in Data Science, Data Engineering, and UX/UI.Analyze business needs, define detailed requirements, and validate potential solutions with the business, following internal and industry best practicesFoster close collaboration with business users (SRM and sales teams) to ensure the solution is designed so it aligns with business needs.Partner with business process owners and subject matter experts to plan, manage, and deliver the design, testing, and implementation of systems supporting promotion planning functions.Research and evaluate best practices and emerging technology, industry, and market trends to drive optimization of delivered solutions.'Translate' between business and tech teams leveraging your in-depth knowledge of TPM/TPO processes and understanding of analytics and analytic solutionsLeverage your experience with one or more trade systems (e.g., CAS, Demantra, Visual Fabriq etc.) to facilitate discussions on TPO/TPM integrationsFacilitate solutions, define deliverables, and conduct structured design reviews with technical development teams to ensure consistent, well-integrated solutions.Effectively communicate results and status throughout the project lifecycle.Engage with external partners to leverage their expertise and resources to maintain and advance systems and technologies.Contribute to the development of functional and technical expertise across the organization by sharing information with teammates and business partners.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to collaborate, challenge, influence and inspire others in a matrix structure.Strong hands-on functional experience with Trade promotion Optimization tools.Proven experience in trade promotion management or related roles in Sales account teams for a consumer goods industrySolid understanding of all facets of the Trade Promotion Management (TPM) lifecycle especially: Annual Planning, Customer Planning, Retail Execution, Reporting, and Category OptimizationSpecific understanding of CPG market and retail landscape in USStrong project managerProven track record of delivering within deadlines and budgets while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate with business and technical partners alikeBachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.Experience working with technical teams such as Data Science and Data EngineeringAbility to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.Familiarity with industry trends, market dynamics, and consumer behaviour.Strong organization, problem-solving and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to anticipate business partner needs and proactively develop and discuss potential solutionsExperience with Agile development methodology
