Senior Product Manager, Matching and Fulfillment

Matching and Fulfillment is central to the Lyft marketplace and how riders and drivers experience Lyft: estimating ETAs and the cost of fulfillment, optimizing driver-rider matches, and delivering on our on-time promise. The Matching and Fulfillment group is responsible for dynamically matching supply and demand to balance drivers’ expectations, riders’ expectations and Lyft’s objectives. To help accomplish this mission, the Product Manager, Matching and Fulfillment will:
Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience through optimization of our matching and fulfillment products and systems Drive methodologies and systems to enable trade offs between different objectives (growth, profit, user retention, driver hours, driver pay) Define the roadmap for and manage product development execution for a cross-functional team focused on pre-request match generation, post-request fulfillment or matching core services
This individual should:
Have an Operations Research/ML/algorithmic background Have shipped products in deeply technical and analytical domains - able to use data and experimentation to guide a team towards successful execution Be detail-oriented and able to dive deep into complex technical concepts, but also abstract them to cross-functional stakeholders and leaders Maintain an objective, strong POV on what to build for our users, amidst many different stakeholders, world-class scientists, and experienced engineers with varied goals
Responsibilities:
Own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation, through development, to launch, growth and maintenance Represent the customer’s point of view and champion a customer-first approach to product development Align on business goals for optimization with executives and business teams Define short-term and long-term strategy to achieve those goals Develop and own quarterly and yearly roadmaps and financial impact for your team Write product requirements documents and review experiment design docs and technical specifications for your team’s projects Ideate impactful projects, then break them down into MVP and further milestones to test and develop the hypothesis through fast experimentation, pivoting when the data hints Work closely with partner teams to represent your team’s perspective on new initiatives, define requirements, and prioritize asks Lead and align cross-functional partners and team: engineers, scientists, analysts, business partners, operations to drive a shared vision
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of product management experience Experience managing Operations Research/ML/algorithmic products across any domain Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way Ability to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products Excellent judgment and thoughtfulness about the dynamics of a product ecosystem Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users Experience running A/B tests and using common statistical techniques to evaluate results. Experience leading post-launch optimizations including developing testing strategies Experience with data, including querying, aggregation, analysis, and visualization Ability to conceptualize, manage and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders Superior organizational skills -- balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $160,000 - $180,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
